Matt, Bill, and David catch Mahi while trolling on the Paparda Rey.
While fishing offshore in the Gulf of Mexico during August 2015, I hooked up on this great fish. Thanks to the charter team and of course all the guys I had a great time fishing with for the support. I was excited and totally exhausted after this.

Also known widely as dorado and dolphin, it is one of two members of the Coryphaenidae family, the other being the pompano dolphinfish.
The name mahimahi means very strong in Hawaiian. In other languages, the fish is known as dorade coryphène, dorado, dolphin, lampuga, llampuga, lampuka, lampuki, rakingo, calitos, ti-rone or maverikos.
