Busy Summer

I’ve been too busy to update my website. I worked for a week in Europe, another week in Saudi, came home for a day to only fly out 12 hours later. No complaints because I spent 10 days in Hawaii doing my baseball job. I’ve added some pictures from Hawaii in the photo gallery.

Jake makes Dynamo soccer club.

Jake attended tryouts last week and was selected to play with the Cy-Fair Dynamos Soccer Club. He will play on the U13 Silver team. Eastern District, Div 1. It will be his first season of competitive soccer. He will wear jersey #22. We are very proud of him. He will continue to play baseball and may still play football for his middle school.

15-0 over the Redskins. In this picture Jake is playing tight end and blocking as the running back is hitting in the hole. This run went for about 7 yards. I’ve added more photos to the gallery.

Renegades Golf Event

Danny, Jake and I enjoy a hot round of golf at Longwood. His team raised money for the trip to world series in Panama City. Thanks to Project Leadership for sponsoring Jake’s foursome.

Jake turns 11

Jake had a poker party for his 11th birthday party. I was busy dealing the cards and Tami was out town so I didn’t get any pictures. The boys had a blast and I am exhausted. The picture is Jake blowing out candles 7 years ago.

Bailey was at dance this weekend with MeeMaw winning two more awards.

Baseball is in full swing. The Renegades spent the weekend in Alvin, TX (home of Nolan Ryan) winning their second event of the Spring. It was the biggest come back in Renegade history. We were down by 8 runs going into the bottom of the last inning. We scored 3 runs and then with 2 outs we score 5 more to win. In that last 5 Jake was able to work a walk and was one of the 5 runs we needed to win 17-16.

Jake batted in the sixth spot (out of 11) in the order. Jake was 2 for 3 (one strikeout) in the championship game plus the walk. He scored twice and had an RBI.

The batting order changes coach made worked because on Sunday the team scored 53 runs in 3 games. Prior to the changes we averaged about 6 runs per game.

He’s so tired in the photo he’s holding his trophy backwards.

Broncos get a win!

Picture of Jake from MeeMaw’s camera phone after a muddy night of football on Thursday. He was moved to left guard. Broncos get their first win over the 49ers 32-0. Jake’s guard play helped open a hole on the left side of the line wide enough for an 18 wheeler to drive through allowing the team to score two of the touchdowns on running the 33 counter. On defense he played free safety. He had a well timed hit that broke up a pass and another that hit his hands that could have led to his first interception. He also had several plays where he took a good angle to the sideline making tackles that helped keep the shutout.
